Taylor ISD Theater Performances

Taylor Rodeo
Since 1950, the Taylor Rodeo Association has proudly brought to you the Taylor Annual Rodeo in the hometown of Bill Pickett. The crowds that come to this yearly event have grown because of the enthusiasm and the excitement– but most of all for the entertainment they receive. Over the years the Taylor Annual Rodeo has become the big fish in a small pond. It is one of the biggest and best small-town rodeos anywhere.
Main Street Car Show
The Main Street Car Show is an annual event held in late October/early November. This event is sponsored by the City of Taylor and Main Street Taylor, Texas, and in the past has featured art exhibitions, food, music, raffle prizes, and shopping, along with a wide array of impressive cars.
Patriot Day Parade
The Taylor Fire Department brings the community together every year on September 11th to honor those who lost their lives in the attacks that occurred in 2001. During this event, emergency personnel and vehicles parade through downtown Taylor.
Taylor Fest
First weekend in May
Formerly known as Blackland Prairie Day, this annual festival takes place during the first weekend of May every year. This festival is sponsored by the Main Street Program, a program which focuses on downtown revitalization within the context of historical preservation. The Taylor Main Street Program supports the redevelopment of the downtown area through historical preservation, education, economic development, and heritage tourism. This event includes live music, live multicultural dances, food vendors, and arts and crafts booths.
Fireworks Show
The annual Taylor fireworks show is held in beautiful Murphy Park each year on July 4th at dusk to celebrate America’s independence.
Christmas Parade & Tree Lighting Ceremony
First Saturday in December
The Taylor Ministerial Alliance hosts a Christmas Parade of Lights followed by the official Christmas Tree lighting ceremony by the City of Taylor every year on the first Saturday in December.

Farmers Market on Main
At the Heritage Square Pavilion, we have vendors selling fresh fruits and vegetables, pasture-raised meats, fresh eggs, salsas, pickles and relishes, soaps, handcrafted items, bedding plants and more. Support local!
Numerous BBQ Cook-Offs
Taylor hosts numerous BBQ cook-offs throughout the year, including the Taylor International BBQ Cook-Off in August.
Steaks and Country Music what could be better? Grilling them Greenhouse style! Ribeye’s, Sirloins, and more with all the fixings plus country music from David Touchton and Tyler Stuckey.

Rhythm Congress was born in a warehouse on South Congress Avenue in Austin, Texas. It features a lively rhythm section and a large congress of horns playing horn-based rock, blues, and classic rhythm and blues.
Garage punk or dirty, vintage garage rock, however you call it – five women coming together to play kick-ass music. Sax, guitar, melodica, bass, drums, and a lotta vocal power. Miss Guilty is an all-female band based out of Austin, Texas. Amidst their bootlegging, conning, and rabble rousin’ these five guilty souls come together to bring you their own brand of good-time music.

The Merles
Tennessee Stiffs
A little bit rock ‘n’ roll, a little bit country, and a whole lotta rowdy make up Tennessee Stiffs. They seamlessly blend Americana, blues, rock, folk, country, and a myriad of other influences into a powerful and provocative avenue of true grit Americana.
The Merles are an original, classic country band based out of Austin, TX featuring Todd Deatherage, Mike Simms, Phil Spencer, and Matt Winegardner. The group strives to create an old-school, traditional sound that echoes the memories of yesterday’s country. With catchy choruses and danceable tunes, their influences include Bob Wills, Hank Williams, Lefty Frizzell, George Strait, and their namesake, Merle Haggard.
