Taylor Rodeo
Since 1950, the Taylor Rodeo Association has proudly brought to you the Taylor Annual Rodeo in the hometown of Bill Pickett. The crowds that come to this yearly event have grown because of the enthusiasm and the excitement– but most of all for the entertainment they receive. Over the years the Taylor Annual Rodeo has become the big fish in a small pond. It is one of the biggest and best small-town rodeos anywhere.

This is a great way to experience making pottery for the first time. We want you to have a great time creating pottery whether you are a beginner or more advanced. However, please remember this is just an introduction to clay. We cannot guarantee high quality results for pottery made during the session. Our goal is to provide you with a great event to remember!
Students are invited to learn to build a clay item using rolled slabs, coil or pinch pot methods. You’ll decorate the item with our assortment of texture tools, then pick a glaze color.
We will fire your pieces in our kiln with a single glaze of your choice from our studio selection. Pieces will be fired and ready for pickup within a couple weeks.

Author Ken Anderson will be speaking about Taylor’s own Gov. Dan Moody. Anderson’s book “Dan Moody, Crusader for Justice” is the only biography of Texas’ youngest governor. Dan Moody was a young District Attorney for Travis and Williamson counties when he successfully prosecuted cases against four members of the Ku Klux Klan. Those trials took place 100 years ago this year. Join us and learn how this Taylor native made history. Admission is free but seating is limited.
