Taylor Rodeo
Since 1950, the Taylor Rodeo Association has proudly brought to you the Taylor Annual Rodeo in the hometown of Bill Pickett. The crowds that come to this yearly event have grown because of the enthusiasm and the excitement– but most of all for the entertainment they receive. Over the years the Taylor Annual Rodeo has become the big fish in a small pond. It is one of the biggest and best small-town rodeos anywhere.
Main Street Car Show
The Main Street Car Show is an annual event held in late October/early November. This event is sponsored by the City of Taylor and Main Street Taylor, Texas, and in the past has featured art exhibitions, food, music, raffle prizes, and shopping, along with a wide array of impressive cars.
Patriot Day Parade
The Taylor Fire Department brings the community together every year on September 11th to honor those who lost their lives in the attacks that occurred in 2001. During this event, emergency personnel and vehicles parade through downtown Taylor.
Taylor Fest
First weekend in May
Formerly known as Blackland Prairie Day, this annual festival takes place during the first weekend of May every year. This festival is sponsored by the Main Street Program, a program which focuses on downtown revitalization within the context of historical preservation. The Taylor Main Street Program supports the redevelopment of the downtown area through historical preservation, education, economic development, and heritage tourism. This event includes live music, live multicultural dances, food vendors, and arts and crafts booths.
Fireworks Show
The annual Taylor fireworks show is held in beautiful Murphy Park each year on July 4th at dusk to celebrate America’s independence.

Monthly Events

Second Saturday of the month
Every Second Saturday, downtown Taylor businesses join together for a full day of food, beer, music, art, movies and shopping. Take a day trip to Taylor!
Farmers Market on Main
At the Heritage Square Pavilion, we have vendors selling fresh fruits and vegetables, pasture-raised meats, fresh eggs, salsas, pickles and relishes, soaps, handcrafted items, bedding plants and more. Support local!
Numerous BBQ Cook-Offs
Taylor hosts numerous BBQ cook-offs throughout the year, including the Taylor International BBQ Cook-Off in August.
The Bluebonnet Horse Expo is a day-long educational, adoption, and fundraising event for Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society – and it includes something for all horse lovers and enthusiasts!
Equine professionals will be educating attendees on topics ranging from horse health to horse handling and training. Vendors will sell horse-related goods, home décor, books, and more. A silent auction will feature horse/farm/ranch/western-themed jewelry, clothing, and home décor while the Bluebonnet Art Show and Sale will offer original works of art for sale to attendees. The event also includes a live auction of saddles and other tack, a used tack sale, and 50-60 horses for adoption.
The Bluebonnet Horse Expo includes the Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge. At the Challenge, professional trainers and non-professional horseman and horsewomen compete over an obstacle course and show off their horses’ skills in a freestyle competition. Before the competition, professional trainers have four months to start BEHS horses under saddle or work through behavioral problems while non-professionals work with a horse for four months who was previously trained to ride or work with a horse on the ground. The Challenge horses are available for adoption at the event.
The event will be Saturday, October 19th from 9 am to 7 pm. Approximately sixty Bluebonnet horses will be on hand to meet the public, and the horses will be available for adoption to approved homes.
Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society is a non- profit organization that helps rescue horses, ponies, and donkeys from negligent and abusive owners. Not only is the event educational, but all funds raised at the event help Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society alleviate the suffering of horses throughout Texas.
There are still sponsorship and vendor opportunities available, and the organization needs donations of horse equipment and farm/ranch/western themed art-work, jewelry, and home décor for the live auction, art show, silent auction, and sale area. All donations are tax-deductible.
