Taylor Blackland Prairie Days @ Taylor's Historic Downtown District | Taylor | Texas | United States

This festival is sponsored by the Main Street Program, a program which focuses on downtown revitalization within the context of historical preservation. The Taylor Main Street Program supports the redevelopment of the downtown area through historical preservation, education, economic development and heritage tourism.

Kid Fest
The festival features plenty of fun activities for the kids including pony rides, petting zoo, face painting, inflatables and much more. Rope the Steer, join in the Stick Horse Rodeo or stop by the Chuck Wagon Camp and have your picture taken with a real Longhorn!

Arts & Crafts
Booths featuring arts and crafts, plants, baked goods and retail merchandise will all be available to provide a unique shopping experience for everyone.

Food
Look for a variety of food and drink so you can spend the day strolling through the festival. Funnel cakes, sausage wraps, and local favorites will make you hungry for more!  Take a moment to visit some of our downtown restaurants after the festival or on your next visit to Taylor.

BBQ Cookoff
Join us as City of Taylor Main Street Program kicks off our first annual barbecue cook off! We want to showcase Taylor’s history at our festival and Taylor’s history contains barbecue. We will have four categories this year: Chicken, Ribs, Cook’s Choice and Children’s Chicken. Since we are just getting started, we won’t have entry fees, just a fun time in our historic downtown. There will also be entertainment and vendors all day long. After the cook off, join us for the Street Dance from 5 – 9 pm. Click here for more information and an application.

Entertainment
The street dances promises lots of music, fun, and good times!  Dance starts at 5 pm and lasts until 9 pm with beer and wine available among the beautiful backdrop of Heritage Square.  There will be a stage featuring local and area talent to celebrate our community’s diversity and live bands for the street dance. Cultural and heritage music and song will be showcased throughout the day and into the early evening. No better way to spend the weekend!
